Algeria Family Health Survey 2002-2003
General Info
The Algeria Family Health Survey, part of the PAPFAM project, included five questionnaires:
- Household characteristics
- Reproductive health
- People ages 60 and older
- Young adults ages 15-29
- Women ages 55-59
The last three were optional modules for the PAPFAM project. Most of the survey was conducted in 2002, but the portion covering young adults was not completed until early 2003.
The survey used a two-stage stratified sample of 510 districts with the frame based on the 1998 census. Respondents included:
- 19,233 households
- 15,156 women
- 3,958 people 60 and older
- 3,268 unmarried people ages 15-29
Topics included health status; knowledge of contraception and sexually-transmitted diseases; attitudes about marriage, gender, education and other topics; work-related injuries; reproductive health; and use of health services.
