Argentina Hospital Discharges by Selected Variables 2000
General Info
This report provides data on hospital discharges for the year 2000, organized according to select variables such as length of stay, type of discharge (if the person died or not), surgical and diagnostic procedures performed, and type of establishment (general or specialized). It includes registered discharge data from public sector, inpatient care facilities which hold approximately 77,730 beds. Those facilities associated with the armed and security forces and national universities, as well as the private and social insurance fund sectors, are not included in the data.
Diagnoses are coded according to ICD-10 and grouped into 80 categories. Procedures administered during the hospital stays are coded according to ICD-9 CM. The data are broken down by province and 5-year age groups (smaller increments for those under age 5), and represent a single, principal diagnosis for each period of hospitalization.
