General Info
This epidemiological report contains data from the clinical surveillance module, laboratory surveillance module (SIVILA), sentinel units, and other programs which report through the National Health Surveillance System (SNVS). The report provides case numbers, rates of notification, and incidence rates for all notifiable diseases by province from 2000-2005. Standardized morbidity ratios, confidence intervals, and mortality numbers are also included in the tables.
Sections on gastroenteric diseases, meningitis, respiratory illnesses, zoonotic and vector diseases, STDs, unintentional injuries, poisonings, vaccine-preventable diseases, and mortality provide additional information and analysis of the epidemiological situation. In these sections, national immunization coverage for pentavalent, polio, MMR, hepatitis A and B, and BCG vaccines is covered.
