General Info
The 2006 epidemiological report contains data from the clinical surveillance module, laboratory surveillance module (SIVILA), sentinel units, and other programs that report through the National Health Surveillance System (SNVS). The report provides tables with case numbers and rates for notifiable diseases for 1997-2006. Mortality numbers for notifiable diseases for 2000-2006 are also included in the report.
Sections on gastroenteric diseases, meningitis, respiratory illnesses, zoonotic and vector diseases, STDs, unintentional injuries, poisonings, vaccine-preventable diseases, and mortality provide additional information and analysis of the epidemiological situation. In these sections, national immunization coverage for pentavalent, polio, MMR, rubella, and BCG vaccines is covered.
