New Zealand Fertility and Family Survey 1995
General Info
The Fertility and Family Surveys (FFS) were conducted in 23 United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Region countries from 1989 to 1999. The template survey includes 10 core and 4 optional modules. Topics include household characteristics, partnerships, fertility, and use of contraception. Sampling and data collection varied across the participating countries.
In New Zealand, the main sample consisted of 2,507 women between the age of 20 and 59 years across the country. In addition, two population over-samples were carried out: the Maori population and the population in the Midland Regional Health Authority area. The questionnaire combines the FFS core modules with questions from the 1991 New Zealand Census of Population and Dwellings. It also includes additional questions regarding health, family and household structures, income, and child care.
