Summary
The Fertility and Family Surveys (FFS) were conducted in 23 countries of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) from 1989 to 1999. The template survey included 10 core and 4 optional modules. Topics included household characteristics, partnerships, fertility, and use of contraception. Each country developed a unique questionnaire derived from the standardized template. Sampling and data collection varied across the participating countries. The Lithuania FFS was conducted on a female and male subsample between ages 18-49. The survey used multi-stage random sampling and Kish tables for the selection of respondents. A total of 3,000 females and 2,000 males were interviewed.
