The Fertility and Family Surveys (FFS) were conducted in 23 United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Region countries from 1989 to 1999. The template survey includes 10 core and 4 optional modules. Topics include household characteristics, partnerships, fertility, and use of contraception. Each country developed a unique questionnaire derived from the standardized template. Sampling and data collection varied across the participating countries. The Greek FFS was carried out by the National Center for Social Research (EKKE) and information was collected from a random sample of 3,048 women and 1,026 men between the age of 18 and 49 years.
