Argentina National Population, Households, and Dwelling Census 2001-2002
General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well.
Data for this census were collected through face-to-face interviews on topics of housing, household demographics, assets, employment for individuals 14 and older, education, migration, ethnicity, disability, and fertility for women 14 and older. The ethnicity and disability questions were used to identify special populations in the country. Based on this information, the National Disability Survey and the Survey of Indigenous People were executed and the resulting information was included in appendices to the census.
The census was primarily carried out on November 17 and 18, 2001; however, due to flooding interviews in some areas did not occur until May of 2002.
Coverage of the census was 97.25%.
