The Current Population Survey (CPS) is sponsored by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and is the chief source of labor force statistics for the U.S. population, presenting data on a range of issues relating to employment and earnings. The survey also collects demographic data to improve understanding of labor market conditions, both nationally and subnationally, among a range of population groups.
