Summary
This 2007 survey follows-up the second national survey of children's mental health and well-being in the UK, carried out in 2004. The follow-up survey aims to identify the persistence, onset, risk factors and outcomes of childhood mental disorders. And further, to examine resilience and protective factors and the medium term effect of special education needs on subsequent phsychological health, absenteeism and exclusions.
In 2004 the children and young people interviewed were aged five-16 years old. In the 2007 follow-up the children and young people were aged 8-19 years old. The 2007 sample consisted of 7,329 families from the 2004 survey.
