Summary
The Vadu Health and Demographic Surveillance System was established in 2002 and it covers an area of 232 square km. Data collection occurs every six months for select households in two administrative blocks of the Pune district in the Maharashtra province.
The scope of demographic surveillance covers household demographic characteristics, living conditions, access to facilities and services, education, employment, maternal mortality, and pregnancy monitoring.
