General Info
The first wave of the Australia Longitudinal Study of Children followed a cohort of 5,000 children ages 0 to 1, and a second cohort of 5,000 children ages 4 to 5. Successive waves of this survey will follow cohorts through adulthood. Suvey respondents included parents, teachers, and home-/center-based child care providers. Questions covered topics such as induced labor, length of gestation, children's behavior and skills, child care arrangements, and parent's previous and current partners. The survey also includes questions about different activities that parents do with their child, frequency of binge drinking, and use of alcohol and tobacco during pregnancy. Caretakers completed a diary questionnaire about childrens' behavior and activities on a given day.
