Summary 

The Kenya - Garissa County Nutrition and Food Security Survey 2011 used Standardized Monitoring of Relief and Transitions (SMART) methodology to assess malnutrition prevalence in children ages 6-59 months. The survey collected under-five and crude mortality rates; child immunization coverage; infant and young child feeding (ICYF) practices; household food security; water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices; and access to nutrition interventions.

The sample included 748 children aged 6-59 months from 700 households. The number of children aged 0-23 months assessed for IYCF was 397.
