Costa Rica National Household Survey 2020
General Info
The Costa Rica National Household Survey, conducted in July 2020, collected data on household income and inequality, poverty, living conditions, education, unemployment, and COVID-19. The data were collected through in person interviews in the home, as well as telephone interviews.
The survey contacted 13,440 primary sampling units from which approximately 8,124 private households participated. This survey followed many of the same conventions of sampling, methodology, and topics as previous rounds. The major thematic areas of the questionnaires were household demographic characteristics, household characteristics, household expenditures, education, and employment. A new section on COVID-19 was also presented, investigating whether the pandemic affected a given household's income, and whether it received public assistance.
