Summary

This 2001 LSMS, the first living standards survey conducted after Bosnia and Herzegovina emerged as an independent country, was primarily conducted by three statistical agencies: the Agency for Statistics in BIH, the Republic of Srpska Institute of Statistics, and the BIH Institute of Statistics. It was the first wave of a panel survey that continued to 2004. A household and a price questionnaire were used; the household questionnaire contained modules on housing, education, labor, health, migration and other topics. The sample included 2,400 households in the Republic of Srpska and 3,000 households in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The survey was nationally and regionally representative and representative for urban and rural areas. Detailed health care use and health status questions were asked.

A data file for all four waves of the survey is also available from the World Bank.
