Sudan Population and Housing Census 2008 - IPUMS
General Info
The 2008 Sudan de facto census collected data through face-to-face interviews. A long form questionnaire was given to a sample while a short form questionnaire was used to enumerate the majority of the population. In addition to the short form questions on household demographics and migration, the long form questionnaire had questions on housing, education, employment, disability, fertility, agriculture, and household deaths. The census day was April 22, 2008 and fieldwork continued until May 6. A 15% differentially weighted sample of households from the census (5,609,295 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. The sample is drawn from the established households enumerated via the long form questionnaire and a sample of nomad households. Dwellings, vacant units, and group quarters are not identified in the microdata sample. The data are for North and South Sudan. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
