Puerto Rico Census 2000 - IPUMS
General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 2000 Puerto Rico de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews and self enumeration on subjects of housing, household demographics, education, migration, employment, and income. A single long form questionnaire was completed by approximately one-sixth of the population. The census day was April 1, 2000. A 5% differentially weighted sample of households (189,828 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Dwellings are not identified in the sample. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
