Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1993 Peru de facto census collected data through face-to-face interviews on subjects of housing, household demographics, education, migration, disability, employment for those 6 and older, and fertility for women 12 and older. The census day was July 11, 1993, and fieldwork was conducted on that day in urban areas and July 12-26 in rural areas.
