Summary 

The cross-national Asian Barometer survey was conducted using an in-person interview to assess public opinion on democracy, security, world and local politics, and economic issues. The surveys were conducted in four waves across nineteen countries. Wave 1 was conducted between 2001-2003 in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Mongolia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand.
