Guinea General Census of Population and Housing 1996 - IPUMS
General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1996 Guinea de facto and de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews on the subjects of housing, household demographics, disability, activity and employment status of those 6 and older, education, and fertility for women 12 and older. The census day was December 1, 1996, and fieldwork was done December 1-15. A 10% sample of dwellings from the census (729,071 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
