Brazil General Census 1970 - IPUMS
General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1970 Brazil de jure and de facto census collected data through face-to-face interviews on housing conditions, family composition, income, educational attainment, employment, migration, and fertility. The census day was September 1, 1970 and fieldwork continued until November 1. A differentially weighted sample of 5% of households from the census (4,953,759 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
