The North Korea Multiple Cluster Indicator Survey (MICS) 2017 is part of MICS phase 6, an international survey initiative to monitor the situation of children and women. Topics commonly covered in MICS include immunization, education, child and maternal health, family planning and knowledge of HIV/AIDS. MICS also provides data for tracking progress toward Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to health, education and mortality. For the 2017 North Korea MICS, 8,763 women and 4,179 men ages 15-49 were successfully interviewed from 8,499 households. Additionally, 2,275 questionnaires for children under five and 4,121 questionnaires for children ages 5-17 were completed. Water quality testing was conducted for 1,359 households.
