The Monitoring Smoking Habits in the Danish Population survey, conducted in November and December of 2016, collected data on the smoking habits of participants by age and sex, including cigarette and e-cigarette use, purchasing activity, and steps taken to quit smoking.

Participants ages 15 and over had the choice to complete the survey either by computer or smartphone, with 5,062 interviews conducted.
