The Causes of Death report is based on data from the Lithuania State Register of Death Cases and Their Causes, which was established in 2010. Cause of death data from death certificates and other documents are coded according to ICD-10 standards. The register also collects information on sex, date of birth, date of death, place of residence, and place of death.

This annual report offers tabulations of deaths by age, sex, cause for Lithuania. Mortality tables are provided specifically for municipalities, urban and rural areas, cancers, external causes, suicides, and perinatal deaths.
