Argentina National Population and Housing Census 1980 - IPUMS
General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1980 Argentina de facto census collected data through face-to-face interviews on the subjects of household demographics, migration, housing conditions, education, employment for individuals age 14 and older, and fertility for women age 14 and older. The census day was October 22, 1980; however, some interviews occurred on the following day because heavy rains impeded access to some areas on the day of the census. Coverage for the census was 98.99% of the population. A 10% weighted sample of households from the census (2,667,714 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
