General Info
The principle focus of the survey was to measure, describe, and analyze demographic behavior and change in the SNNPR. The information collected in the survey is on a number of topics which include: community access to health services, migration patterns, family composition, demographic characteristics, food consumption, marriage history, reproductive history, female adult mortality, infant mortality, breastfeeding and weaning practices, use of prenatal and postnatal care, child's immunizations from individual women aged 15-49, and malnutrition.
Data tabulations and an analysis of the survey can be found in a printed report titled Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region: Community & Family Survey 1997. Some libraries may be able to procure this report through the interlibrary loan system.
