Mexico National Survey of Health and Nutrition Mid-way 2016
General Info
The purpose of the National Health and Nutrition Survey (ENSANUT) is to gather information on the health and nutritional status of the Mexican population. The first National Health and Nutrition Survey took place in 2006 and incorporated components from previous National Nutrition Surveys conducted in 1988 and 1999. In 2016, it was decided to conduct the survey midway (ENSANUT MC) in order to monitor and identify health and nutrition issues and take timely action accordingly.
Data were collected on such topics as sleep, diet, physical and leisure activity, health education and literacy, health status, health care use and access, and sociodemographic and household characteristics. An estimated 11,759 individuals ages 5 and up were interviewed. Additional data were acquired with anthropometric measurements, blood tests, and a food frequency questionnaire.
