Summary
The National Tuberculosis Prevalence Survey conducted in Uganda in 2014-2015 examined the prevalence of smear-positive pulmonary tuberculosis, participants experiencing symptoms of pulmonary tuberculosis, HIV prevalence among tuberculosis patients, and tobacco use among participants. Data were collected with a symptom-screening questionnaire and chest x-rays. Sputum tests were conducted if participants reported a cough lasting two weeks or more, or if their x-rays showed abnormalities. A total of 41,1456 participants ages 15 and above, including 17,486 men and 23,670 women, from across the country were canvassed.
