Summary
The Saudi Arabia Demographic Survey was first conducted in 1998. The 2016 survey was the fourth of the series, and was carried out between the population census of 2010 and 2020. The purpose of the survey was to gather information on population demographics and household characteristics, to inform development planning, fill in between census year data collection, and provide data for estimates and comparisons. Data were collected though household interviews. The questionnaire included the topics of education, marital status, family planning, fertility, mortality, disabilities, tobacco use, assets, and housing and living conditions. The sample size, covering all 13 administrative regions, was approximately 33,350 households.
