Colombia National Population and Housing Census 1993-1994 - IPUMS
General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1993-1994 Colombia de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews on the subjects of housing, household demographics, employment for individuals 10 and older, education for those 5 and older, migration, disability, and fertility for women 12 and older. The census day was October 24, 1993 and fieldwork in urban areas was done on this day while fieldwork in rural areas was carried out from August 1993 to February 1994. Coverage for the total population was 88.5%. A 10% sample of dwellings from the census (3,213,657 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. The sample does not include the departments of Guainía and Vaupés because there were no cases enumerated as private dwellings in these areas.
