Summary 

Data on newborns and maternal care are collected annually in the Perinatal Information System of the Republic of Slovenia (PIS RS) by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ). The data collection follows the calendar year and comes from birth records. Included in the report are other sources of information such as the statistical office of Slovenia and the WHO. For 2005, there was a total of 18,199 births with 18,088 live births and 111 stillbirths.
