Mexico Institutions of Health Sector Hospital Discharges 2011 (Instituciones Del Sector Salud 2011) presents data on hospital diagnoses, discharges, procedures, deaths, and obstetric events for individuals seen at public hospitals serving specific populations within the country, including: the Mexican Social Security Institute (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social – IMSS), the Institute for Social Security and Services for State Workers (Instituto de Serguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado – ISSSTE), the medical institutes of Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), the Secretary of National Defense (SEDENA), and the Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR). Data are broken out by state, municipality, medical unit, age and sex of patient, and initial reason for service (injury, illness, etc.). Institutions of Health Sector Hospital Discharges data are generated from Mexico's Automated Hospital Discharge System (SAEH).
