Summary 

The Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey 2017-2018 is part of phase 7 of the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) series. Topics commonly covered in DHS include child and maternal health, family planning, health care access, education attainment, housing conditions, immunization, and health attitudes, knowledge and practices. The 2017-18 Pakistan DHS is nationally representative. The survey included Azad Jammuand Kashmir, and the former Federally Administrated Tribal Areas. It is representative for the four provinces of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan; the regions of Azad Jammuand Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan; and for the Islamabad Capital Territory, and the Federally Administrated Tribal Areas. For the 2017-2018 Pakistan DHS, 12,364 ever married women ages 16-49 were successfully interviewed from 11,869 households, and 3,145 ever married men ages 15-49 were successfully interviewed from a sub-sample of 4,263 households.
