Summary

The Rapid Nutritional Assessment conducted in 2002 assessed the nutritional status of children ages 6-59 months and women ages 15-49 years across West Bank and Gaza Strip in Palestine. Data were collected using a household and examination survey, a market place survey, and a survey of maternal and child health clinics.

The household survey canvassed 936 children and 1,534 non-pregnant women from 1,004 households. Based on responses from the household survey, the clinic survey covered 68 clinics most frequently seen for growth monitoring. The market survey sampled 660 retailers and 140 wholesalers, and covered topics such as the disruption of non-luxiry goods and trends in food prices.
