Summary 

The purpose of this survey was to increase understanding of the scale and behavioral determinants of HIV, syphilis, and Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C among injecting drug users. The data were collected with interviews and blood tests. Information was gathered on sociodemographic characteristics, sexual behavior and drug use patterns, health care knowledge and use, population estimates, and the prevalence of HIV, syphilis, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C. The study was conducted in three cities with a sample size of 293 in each city. The multiplier method was used for population estimates.
