This presentation, "The Results of the Surveillance of Maternal Mortality," was part of the "Monitoring of Mortality and Severe Mental Morbidity in Italy" conference held in May 2016. It describes results of maternal mortality surveillance as collected by the Italian Obstetric Surveillance System; this system includes both passive data collection from hospital record linkages and active data collection through surveillance of maternal deaths. Data from 2006 to 2012 covered six regions, and the program was expanded to eight regions in 2015.
