Mozambique National Malaria Indicator Survey 2007

The 2007 Mozambique National Malaria Indicator Survey (MIS) provides data on use of insecticidal bed-nets, indoor residual spraying of insecticide, the prevalence of malaria, women's knowledge of malaria, health care use, and symptom management for children. For the 2007 Mozambique National MIS, 5,637 women ages 15-49 were successfully interviewed from 5,745 households. Of the 5,637 female respondents, 589 were pregnant at the time of interview. Additionally, questionnaires were completed for 1,268 children experiencing fevers within a 14 day period prior to the start of the survey. Data were collected through a household survey as well as an individual questionnaire for women ages 15-49. Pregnant women and children under 5 underwent clinical tests to collect data on auxillary temperature, hemoglobin concentration, and the presence of malaria.
