Summary
This dataset is a global digital elevation model (DEM). It has a horizontal grid spacing of 30 arc seconds, or about one kilometer. Data from several topographic sources were compiled to create the GLOBE database, including Digital Terrain Elevation Data, Digital Chart of the World, Australian DEM, Antarctic Digital Database, Brazil, Peru, and AMS 1:1,000,000-scale maps, and DEM for Greenland, Japan, Italy, and New Zealand.
