Brazil's Information System for Notifiable Diseases, also known as SINAN (Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação), provides data on the number of confirmed cases of nationally notifiable diseases, and other select conditions in Brazil from 2001 to the present. Case notification data in SINAN come from data collected at health facilities via epidemiological disease surveillance reporting forms. Data can be downloaded through the SINAN Net database interface, and tables can be customized to present data on the selected condition by year, geography, or demographic characteristics, such as age, and gender.
