Summary 

The Health Survey for England (HSE) is an annual survey conducted in private households to monitor the nation's health. The primary focus of the 1991 and 1992 surveys is cardiovascular disease and associated risk factors. 

The questionnaire includes modules of questions on general health, alcohol consumption, smoking, physical activity, long-standing disability and illness, cardiovascular disease, and socioeconomic characteristics. The survey also provides the following objective measures of health: blood pressure, anthropometric measurements, and blood sample analysis.

The total number of interviews for both survey years is 7,260 adults ages 16 and over; 6,400 adults also received nurse visits.
