New Zealand Health Survey 2013-2014

The purpose of the New Zealand Health Survey was to gather detailed information and the health and habits of adults and children in New Zealand in order to formulate and assess policy. Data were collected through in-person interviews of one child and one adult per participating household. The sample size for the 2013/2014 round was 13,309 adults and 4,699 children.
The main topics of the questionnaire included chronic health conditions, health status, behavior, health care use, sociodemographic characteristics and physical measurements. The measurements of height, weight, and waist circumference were taken from both adults and children. Adults also had blood pressure taken. The 2013/2014 survey included a specific module on chronic conditions, disability, living situation, and housing conditions.
