Summary
The Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) is a multi-country longitudinal study of aging in Europe. Wave 3 took place primarily in 2008 and 2009. Also known as SHARELIFE, wave 3 focused on participants' life histories, childhood health, and experiences with welfare state interventions. SHARELIFE included a main questionnaire that collected information on health, housing, family relationships, work and financial histories. The retrospective design of SHARELIFE allowed for an assessment of participants' life experiences and the effect of welfare state interventions on those life experiences.
