United Kingdom - Scottish Health Survey 2013-2014 - UK Data Service
General Info
The Scottish Government utilizes the Scottish Health Survey (SHeS) to evaluate and monitor the health of its citizens. First conducted in 1995, the SHeS has been carried out continuously since 2008. In the first stage of each survey, data are collected through face-to-face interviews with adults ages 16+ and children ages 0-15 in private households. A set of core questions is used every year in the adult questionnaire, though rotating modules of additional questions are used for different sub-samples of this population. The same questions are used each year for the child interview. Biological samples and physical measurements are collected in the survey's second stage.
For the 2013-2014 SHeS, 9,396 households and 6,733 individuals were sampled. The survey covered general health, respiratory symptoms and asthma, physical activity, eating habits, tobacco and alcohol use, prescription drug use, and anxiety and depression.
