United States - Alaska Supplemental Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System 2007
General Info
This record represents supplemental BRFSS data for Alaska. The BRFSS is organized by the CDC and conducted by individual state health departments.
State-released BRFSS data can include state-added questions and finer geographic detail than the CDC-released dataset. The CDC-released standard dataset includes: (1) Annual Standard Core, (2) Biannual Rotating Core, and (3) Optional Modules. Individual states gather data on topics related to their health priorities with State-Added Questions.
The BRFSS is a system of telephone surveys that collect data about US residents regarding health-related risk behaviors, chronic health conditions, and use of preventive services. BRFSS collects data in all states as well as some territories. The questions vary but generally include: high blood pressure, alcohol and tobacco consumption, diet, exercise, home safety, seat belt use, health care use, screening for colorectal and breast cancers, and sexual behaviors.
