Ghana Performance Monitoring and Accountability 2020 Survey, Round 1 2013
General Info
The Performance, Monitoring, and Accountability Survey (PMA2020) is a multinational, five-year initiative to monitor key indicators for water, sanitation, and family planning. The project is implemented by local research organizations in ten countries using female enumerators and smartphone-based national surveys. PMA2020/Ghana, in addition, aims to monitor the country's Family Planning 2020 goal to contribute to 120 million new contraceptive users worldwide by 2020.
Three questionnaires were used for Round 1: one for households, one for women ages 15-49, and one for service delivery points (SDPs). Out of a sample of 4,000 households, 3,400 females, and 150 SDPs, a total of 3,581 households, 3,758 females, and 149 SDPs were successfully interviewed.
The survey covered household characteristics, housing conditions and assets, fertility, and contraceptive use. The SDP key indicators were facility type, location (urban or rural), and size, measured by the number of beds.
