Summary
Data on newborns and maternal care is collected annually in the Perinatal Information System of the Republic of Slovenia (PIS RS). The data collection follows the calendar year and comes from birth records. Included in the report are other sources of information such as the statistical office of Slovenia and the WHO. The preliminary sixteen tables of this report include historical data on perinatal indicators from 1980 through 2012. Later chapters are for January 1-December 31 of 2012. In 2012, there were 21,405 births in Slovenia.
