Summary

Part of the fourth phase of the DHS series, the 2000 Cambodia Demographic and Health Survey was a national health interview survey, designed to also be representative for certain subnational provinces as well as urban and rural areas separately. The sample consisted of 15,300 women ages 15-49. A subsample of 50 percent of households was selected for antrhopometric data collection. The survey used two questionnaires:

  • A household questionnaire enumerated all household members and visitors and collected information on the socioeconomic status of households.
  • A women’s questionnaire collected information from all women ages 15-49 for topics such as reproductive history, contraceptive use, antenatal and maternal care, child immunization, sexual behavior, knowledge of HIV/AIDS, and maternal mortality.
