Summary
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 2001 Austria de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews and self-enumeration on household demographics, housing conditions, education, employment for individuals 15 and older, migration, and the number of live births per each woman 16 years and older. The questionnaire was comprised of a Personal Data Form, a Housing Unit Data Form for residents, and a Buildings Data Form for owners of real estate. The census day was May 15, 2001.
