Summary 

Part of the third phase of the DHS, the 1993-1994 Bolivia Demographic Health Survey was designed to provide estimates at the national, subnational and urban and rural areas. The survey used four questionnaires:

  • A household questionnaire that collected basic demographic information.
  • A questionnaire for reporting maternal mortality in selected households in the sample.
  • An individual women’s questionnaire for women ages 15-49.
  • A community questionnaire on the availability of health and family planning services.
