Summary
The India Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 1995-1996 is part of round 1 of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) series, an international survey initiative to monitor the situation of children and women. Topics covered in the MICS are intended to provide data that can be used to assess progress towards mid-decade goals defined at the United Nations 1990 World Summit for Children. The 1995-1996 India MICS is covers 20 states, over 14,000 households, and more than 800,000 individuals. Information was collected on immunization, breastfeeding, maternal health, and caregiver knowledge of the treatment of diarrhea and respiratory diseases in children.
